Slow Cooker Bread

You can make tasty homemade bread in your slow cooker with little work and lots of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water

Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy

In another bowl, combine flour and salt

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil

Mix until a dough forms

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic

Place the dough in a greased slow cooker, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size

Set the slow cooker on high and cook the bread for 2-3 hours until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped

Carefully remove the bread from the slow cooker and let it cool before slicing

Serve and enjoy
