Mexican Brownies
These Mexican brownies are infused with a hint of cinnamon and a kick of cayenne pepper, adding a delightful twist to the classic chocolate treat.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C
Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat
Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined
Beat in cocoa powder, flour, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper until batter is smooth
Fold in chocolate chips
Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter
Allow to cool completely in pan before cutting into squares
