Vegan Tofu Paneer Do Pyaza
A vegan twist to the classic Indian dish, Tofu Paneer Do Pyaza offers the same rich flavors without any dairy. Its a delightful combination of tofu, onions, and spices, perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 300g firm tofu, diced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi dried fenugreek leaves
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Set a pan on medium heat and add oil
Put in the cumin seeds and let them pop
Put in the sliced onions and cook them until they turn golden brown
Add the garlic and ginger paste and cook for one more minute
Put in the green chilies and chopped tomatoes
Cook until the tomatoes get soft
Salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder should all be added
Mix well
Dice the tofu and add it to the masala
Mix it in gently to coat it
Stir every now and then for 5 to 7 minutes
Put in the kasuri methi and garam masala, and mix it well
Add fresh coriander leaves as a garnish
Hot roti or rice should go with it
